Getting engaged can put you on cloud 9, which can then turn into a new disease I've discovered, Igottheringitis. Luckily, it's usually not contagious! It's a really fun disease actually, but it can wreak havoc on your time and DEFIANTLY your wallet!
How many wedding websites have you been to? How many wedding books, planners and/or magazines have you bought? There are thousands and thousands of wedding websites, books and articles out there. I recently came across one very well known wedding planner that has so many books, it's almost tempting to buy them all! 'Save Thousands on Your Wedding' (yep, better get that one), 'How to Pick Your Wedding Party' (yep I need that one!), 'The perfect music for your perfect day', 'Elegance in 6 Months or Less' etc......they are ALL tempting! And if you buy them, there goes a few hundred dollars right off the bat. Also if you've been to a few wedding websites....there are usually flashing ads and banners, which are tempting to click on, which leads you to another site with more ads and banners. Soon your lost in the wedding web of confusion!
So why am I putting all this information in ONE book? If you've looked through my site, I hope you have realized I am here to save you MONEY, and to help you be an educated and informed bride who can enjoy everything from I will to I do!
Don't get me wrong, there are VERY good sites with very helpful topics, tools, and videos. But many are quite generic.....you can use their free wedding software (and free is ALWAYS good) but it's not made to be informative on each task that you need to do. One I found had tasks such as 'Make a Budget' (but it doesn't tell you HOW though)! Others were 'Book your florist", 'Order your Cake' and so on and so on. Again....it never tells you HOW, it's just a check mark for 'task done'.
And that daunting generic checklist! It's so gigantic that it's quite overwhelming, and so many things on it might have nothing at all to do with YOUR wedding, or YOUR budget.
I have spent thousands (and I'm serious! I should have kept track) of hours researching and finding the best sites, most helpful articles, and played with many different wedding planning software programs, all to find you the best of everything with a small pricetag! That's my job right?
